ANALYSIS AND SIMULATION OF ELECTRON SPIN RESONANCE SPECTRA OF RANDOMLY ORIENTED PARAMAGNETIC SPECIES

Abstract

     In many cases the values of Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectroscopic and dynamic parameters can only be obtained from the analysis of spectra of randomly oriented paramagnetic species. The accuracy of such determinations is considerably improved by the simulation and least-squares fitting of experimental spectra. The principles and description of the relevant software are reported with examples of applications to species of electron spin 1/2 and 1 in rigid matrices, heterogeneous media, liquid crystals and biological membranes.
